Blackbeard’s Truck’s Song Story
Teenage love is always a jumbled mess and never ends well, especially when the two are getting ready to leave for college. “Lies” was initially written as a singer-songwriter ballad by the guitarist of Blackbeard’s Truck. As time progressed and the initial singer of the written song tired of the slowness, the tempo was amped up with the entrance of percussion, electric sounds were added, and, to immolate more of the changes in the tone and story, a modulation in keys was added as well. Audiences from all around have enjoyed this piece because it not only shows the affect of the songwriter, but this is a song that almost everyone that listens has been in some form of this relationship and can relate and that’s what we do when we write our songs. We tell our stories as honestly as possible and when individuals and audiences react to it as in that we have told their story, it makes our entire experience so much better.
With our roots in South Carolina, Blackbeard’s Truck has hit the pavement and been rolling ever since 2000. As we’ve grown over the years with the support of our families and friends and now having families of our own, we’ve still continued to write and perform great music all over the Southeast and plan to for years to come. Fusing Americana, Indie, Blues, and Southern Rock we’ve created a style all our own and want you to take the ride with us.
