I’m one for goals. It took me a few professional years to understand how to craft proper goals. I still work on the skill. So, moving into 2020 I have some changing music goals. Previously, I have mentioned that I started the year with multiple goals and after about 3 months, I realized that was a few too many and I just needed one goal.
For 2020, I’m trying to augment (sharp 5 anyone?) my goals and get into new territory. The reason is that my goal driven process is successful for me. I want to try something new and see if I can have success in a new way. That’s a very simple plan.
For 2020, there are two goal elements that I will add to my usual–release new material and have more video content.
As of this writing, I have 10 new songs all recorded and ready to go. Seriously. Some songs are recorded in Nashville and most in my home studio. I have a release plan typed up and will start planning a release show in January or February or 2021. If you would like to hear these songs, please contact me and I will send a share link. For the new album, I am going to try a hybrid approach to release music. Let’s see how that goes in a year from now. *smiley face*
For video content I’m planning weekly YouTube content. I’m using the time off work for winter break to prepare some content for 2020. I have four videos prepared and have a plan for each month with a special idea for months with a fifth week.
Exciting. Yes.
In the first seven months of 2020, I will tour around and get into two new states–Ohio and Nebraska. I’ll see if I can extend into somewhere else too. I’m also working on some other travels but I’ll see how that goes. If 2020 does not work for those plans, then I’ll look into possibilities for 2021 for those ideas.
I hope your year starts well. I’m not the biggest advocate of “resolutions” but the flip of the year is a good time to enact a new goal or new way of measuring a goal. Take care and see you on the interwebs or in-person soon.
