Years back, when 21 Pilots had released the Blurryface album, I don’t know the particular name of that, I wrote this song. The song came from some conversation that generated the chorus and I wrote a story to support that chorus. I did a draft for SoundCloud and didn’t think much about this song for awhile.
When getting ready for my album Blood Candy, I had considered a four song ep. I started looking at other songs I had written and remembered this song. It didn’t fit the theme of New Vintage but definitely fit Blood Candy. The music video for Missing featured several music friends from around the world and premiered in Feb of 2020.
Jump to the summer of 2021, I was at a 4th of July gathering in St. Louis and happened across a community display that was one of the most impressive fireworks displays I’d ever seen. I had video but wasn’t sure which song fit it best. The song harkens to a lot of missed feelings, thoughts of the past, and times like that display were a positive take.
