Back in 2020, I visited my dad on New Year’s Eve. We talked about my mom who had passed the year previous. He told me about their dating, early marriage, and how he feels about things now. I came home that night and wrote this song. The line about, “you’re all that I need,” comes verbatim from my dad’s mouth.
I wanted to release this song so my dad could see how people might respond, but he passed in early 2022. He did hear me perform the song and read the lyrics.
