On July 26, I’ll have my 400th solo show. It’s a funny thought that it was near the end of 2013 when I thought I couldn’t sing due to my ashtma and just a few months later I’m doing an opener slot at a house concert. I feel my whole musical journey is an example of work-paying-off. From the first year of pushing against boundaries of my own confidence to getting a chance to perform with in New York City, I am super grateful off all the opportunities I have had.
Since retiring from teaching, I keep thinking of how I may re-invent and re-define my day time endeavors and feel that I may have found something that is a great fit. So, that leaves me to figure out where music will continue to be in my life. I’ll leave that answer for the future. I’ve always been the type to let the river take its course instead of building a containter. So we will see.
The 400th show will be at The Attic Music Bar in St. Louis, MO. I’ll be on the patio and will do some 00’s and 90’s alternative tunes and the last hour I’ll transition to doing some 00’s songs but in an EDM way. This will be a minimal tech-house, minimal acid, and some dark wave EDM in flavor. This will be the first time I have performed like this. I’m excited to have some fun trying some new ways of approaching familiar songs.
